Ongoing Projects and Programmes, Activities & Research
In K4C, our activities have their beginnings in the identification of issues by local hospital staff and Professional Volunteers who treat, work with, and listen to their colleagues, patients, and local community members in Uganda and Tanzania to inform their ideas. Preliminary data collection and literature reviews inform every proposed plan to ensure a greater understanding of localised context and intervention feasibility. Our activities also often begin as predetermined projects that are funded by Global Health organisations and partnerships. However, even after grants end and deadlines are met, the work transforms into a long-term structure, sustained, monitored and evaluated by our staff on the ground.
Professor Louise Ackers believes global health challenges in low-resource settings can be best addressed using simple interventions that allow for local-level collaboration and ultimately propel the building of capacity in healthcare provision and the level of health education. Watch the video below to find out more about Professor Ackers' work with the University of Salford on the design and implementation of simple interventions to solve global health challenges.
