Summer Katz

Primary School Teacher

Summer has worked as a primary school teacher for four years after completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Shortly after, she moved to Cumbria and got a job within Cumbria Education trust at Caldew Lea Primary School. Summer has experience working in year 1 all the way to year 6 and has recently gained a NPQ in Leading Teaching and Learning.
Summer has led Art and DT within school and has provided additional opportunities for pupils to show creativity through dance performance, craft clubs and art. She has taught pupils with varying needs such as Ukrainian refugees, pupils with special educational needs and children with low self-confidence. She is passionate about providing an inclusive and safe environment where differences are celebrated and children can flourish.
Summer views teaching as such a rewarding job and is excited to see the similarities and differences between the Ugandan and English educational system. She is excited to learn from experienced teachers and also offer insight into her training and experienced she has had working in the UK.
