Dr Nicola Morrell-Scott

Dr Nicola Morrell‑Scott is a senior academic leader, researcher, and nursing workforce specialist with over two decades of experience across critical care, higher education, and workforce development. She has held a range of senior university roles, including Associate Dean Education and Student Experience, Head of Postgraduate Nursing, and Programme Manager, leading award‑winning curricula and major student‑experience initiatives. Nicola’s research spans pedagogic innovation and cardiovascular care, with particular interests in curriculum design, approaches to learning, and preparing the nursing workforce to deliver safe, effective care. She has led multiple externally funded research and innovation projects, is widely published, and has presented nationally and internationally.

Nicola first encountered the K4C placement programme while working in the university sector and saw first‑hand how these opportunities enrich learning, broaden perspectives, and strengthen global health partnerships. She brings to the Board a deep commitment to equitable education, compassionate leadership, and the development of sustainable, skilled health workforces. Her motivation for joining K4C is to support the charity’s mission to deliver ethical, impactful, and collaborative programmes that improve outcomes for communities worldwide.
