Dr Melanie Stepehens
Dr Melanie Stephens is a Reader in Adult Nursing and PI of 'Not the Last resort: the impact of an interprofessional student training care home study within the School of Health and Society. Melanie is a health and social care researcher and has specific research interests in pressure redistributing properties of seating, tissue viability, and interprofessional working and learning. She has undertaken research in order to provide an evidence base for products used in the twenty four hour management of pressure ulcers and examined the effect of enrichment activities on affective domain development of student nurses. Melanie co-led an amendment to the UK Tissue Viability Society Seating Guidelines with service users and is using this work to impact policy and practice. She has worked with K4C in a wound management project in Uganda.
