Marta Rancati

Nurse

Marta completed a degree in Political Science in Italy and then moved to the UK in 2015 where she worked in IT for 6 years. Marta then decided to train as a nurse and qualified in 2021. During her training, she worked in a hospital in Arusha, Tanzania. In 2024, she completed the Diploma in Tropical Nursing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Marta has worked in a range of specialities, mainly emergency and orthopedic trauma.  She has also volunteered as an OT nurse on ships in Sierra Leone and Madagascar. Marta continues to volunteer as a deckhand and medical officer onboard ships that do marine protection programmes.

Marta enjoys learning about culture and aims to steer her career in the global health direction. Alongside that, she is motivated to donate her time and skills to where they are most needed and cannot wait to volunteer for 6 months in Zanzibar.
