Dorothy Gashuga
Midwife
Dorothy Gashuga is a registered Midwife by profession with a diploma in midwifery and diploma in reproductive health from Mulago School of nursing and midwifery and Liverpool school of tropical medicine respectively.
She has acquired a wide range of experience in field of midwifery that stretches to period of 8 years and has also been involved in various research projects which include taking lead in data collection and transcribing in a pilot study by Cardiff University about women’s attitude towards a new form of contraceptive patch that is still under the early stages of development cervical screening awareness, test and treat program at Kagote HCIII, helping mothers survive- bleeding after birth and a randomized two arm trial intervention and HIV rapid testing quality improvement impact evaluation study at Kasangati HC IV.
She currently works with Knowledge for Change as based at Fort Portal regional referral hospital and Kagote HCIII aiming at exchanging Knowledge with international volunteers, Students and local midwives with an objective of improving the quality of care being given to the mothers and to improve both maternal and newborn outcomes.
