Home / Student Placement Induction Sessions

Induction Sessions

Every 2 weeks, we hold an online induction session from 2-4 pm for students, their programme coordinators or university staff, as well as professional volunteers. It is mandatory that students going on placement with K4C attend.
The main purpose of the induction session is to help you prepare you for your upcoming placement! The event covers information about our organisation and its healthcare programmes and activities that you can be involved in and important scenario work based on the in-country context. We cover material on all four East African locations, and discuss what a placement will look like for students from various healthcare disciplines.

We may host the induction sessions in person at certain university campuses if we are due to host a large group of students from one university. We will still run this session online, though, so you can still join virtually!
We recommend you attend an induction session 1 month before you are due to fly. We will send you reminders via email when your attendance date is due.
The link for the online Teams meeting is at the top of this page. If you have any issues joining, please do email us!
